A Special Event Featuring Hoshina and Shinomiya Comes to Kaiju No. 8 The Game
The Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME has just launched a new event featuring fan-favorite characters Soshiro Hoshina and Kikoru Shinomiya. "The Weapon Within" event shows parts of their daily lives that are normally hidden away from the main story. With this story, there will be an additional 5-star character, Soshiro Hoshina. In addition to the event, there will be new weapons revealed and conversing in scenes not seen in either the manga or anime.
Soshiro Hoshina is the Vice-Captain of the Japan Defence Force Third Division. He specializes in using blades and comes from a long line of Kaiju fighters, who have been around since the Muromachi period. Despite his speciality being the sword, Hoshina is also exceptional with the ax and now takes on the role of guiding Kikoru Shinomiya.
On Soshiro Hoshina's Pickup Gacha, you can also obtain the 5-star weapon, the Ax-0087 (Ax).
The main story of this event is set in the Tachikawa Base. It starts during the clean-up in the warehouse where two items were discovered. The mysterious items were a greatsword that was once prototyped as Kikoru Shinomiya's custom weapon but was scrapped before practical use, and a prototype ax created during the development process for her current custom weapon. When Kikoru Shinomiya visits the Third Division for training, Soshiro Hoshina challenges Kikoru to a sparring match using these weapons. However, it is no normal fight as Hoshina shoulders the ax while Kikoru will wield the greatsword.
As they fiercely trade blows with unfamiliar weapons, Hoshina poses a question to Kikoru that she is "critically lacking one thing"—what could it be?
In this event, you can earn a variety of different rewards, such as a new background, up to 1,500 dimensional crystals, and the event-limited 4-star weapon Ax-Bison 91 (Ax).
