All You Need Is Kill Movie Reveals New Trailer, January 2026 Debut in Japan
The All You Need Is Kill anime movie adaptation revealed a new trailer and a new visual alongside January 9, 2026 premiere date. International release dates will be announced at a later date.
The upcoming adaptation will be Kenichiro Akimoto's directorial debut. Akimoto is known for art direction on the Poupelle of Chimney Town and CG direction on Children of the Sea. The cast includes voice actor Natsuki Hane as Keiji and actress Ai Mikami as Rita. STUDIO 4°C is animating.

All You Need Is Kill is adapting the novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, initially published in 2004. The novel was adapted into a manga by Ryosuke Takeuchi and Takeshi Obata a decade later. All You Need Is Kill was loosely adapted into Edge of Tomorrow, a live-action Hollywood film starring Tom Cruise.

Set in the year 20XX, ALL YOU NEED IS KILL follows the story of Rita, a resourceful but isolated young woman volunteering to help rebuild Japan after the mysterious appearance of a massive alien flower known as “Darol.” When Darol unexpectedly erupts in a deadly event, unleashing monstrous creatures that decimate the population, Rita is caught in the destruction—and killed. But then she wakes up again. And again. Caught in an endless time loop, Rita must navigate the trauma and repetition of death until she crosses paths with Keiji, a shy young man trapped in the same cycle. Together, they fight to break free from the loop and find meaning in the chaos around them.
