Iconic Events and Lionsgate are teaming up for this limited release. Tickets are now on sale.

Battle Royale is a 2000 movie, based on the novel of the same title by Koushun Takami, which follows a group of junior high school students forced to fight to the death. The film is credited with popularizing the "battle royale" genre, including works such as The Hunger Games, The Purge, Squid Game, and entire video game franchises such as Fortnite Battle Royale and Fate/stay night.

It was the last movie to be directed by Kinji Fukasaku; he would die before completing the Battle Royale II: Requiem sequel. The sequel was an original story.

In the US, the movie had a direct-to-video release in 2010, so this will be the first time that it will screen in cinemas.

The story follows a group of teenagers who end up on an island and have to fight to the death to win and survive.
